On 4 April, the EROSS SC working group met at PIAP Space's headquarters in Warsaw to look into the latest advancements on the project's gripper.
The LARIS Gripper stands as a sophisticated mechanism within the robotic subsystem, situated at the terminus of the CAESAR robotic arm. This pivotal component empowers the Servicer to securely grasp the Client Satellite, facilitating the transmission of precious telemetry data. Moreover, PIAP Space spearheads the development of SGF (Standard Grasping Fixture), tailored for deployment on Cooperative Client Satellites.
This meeting was crucial to review the preliminary mechanical and thermal designs, interfaces and product assurance protocols.
Moving forward, our collective aim is to bolster the maturity of the LARIS, striving towards achieving a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 by the culmination of the EROSS SC project in March 2025.
Let's propel innovation forward!
